The name Selenite comes from the Greek word for moon and means “moon glow". Named after the ancient Greek moon goddess Selene, it is associated with lunar cycles and the divine feminine.
Selenite is connected to both the Third Eye and Crown Chakras, raising consciousness and boosting communication with the Divine. It has a powerful, peaceful energy that makes it great for meditation.
Also referred to as "liquid light", Selenite is a white or clear stone known for its powerful healing and energizing properties. It is the perfect crystal for cleansing and clearing energy. Use Selenite to clear the energy of a room, to clear energy from your body, or even to clear stagnant energy from other crystals.
Uses: Perfect for cleansing and clearing the energy of your other crystals and gemstone jewelry, simply place your items directly in the bowl. It's believed that the bowl's vibrations remove the inharmonious energies found in the resting stone.
Note: It's important to note that Selenite and Satin Spar are different forms of the same mineral (Gypsum) but they have the same properties. What is most commonly referred to as Selenite is actually Satin Spar, which is fibrous and white, and often seen in towers, as raw wands, or polished into palm stones, bowls and spheres. Selenite forms in large, flat, transparent crystals that are often called “plates” or “slabs”. They have very thin sheets and can easily flake apart.
